Deputy Coordinator: To be confirmed
This group has a fixed programme of monthly meetings held on the second Monday of each month 2.00 - 4.00pm taking turns to meet in each other’s houses.
There is no set agenda but typically we might discuss our experiences/visits/holidays etc since the last meeting or work through material obtained from recent trips to France or use books/printed worksheets or discuss topics from previous meetings. We aim to practice fluency/vocabulary and extend our conversational skills supporting each other.
There is no charge for attendance and the host each month usually provides tea, coffee and biscuits.
The group is not suitable for beginners.
- Joint Blackwater/Heybridge U3A Group:
There is a second (larger) French Improvers Group run by Heybridge U3A to which Blackwater U3A French Improvers can join subject to availability. This group also has a fixed programme of monthly meetings held on the fourth Monday of each month 2.00 - 4.00pm.
The Heybridge group is led by Jenny Parker who prepares topics and material in agreement with the group members from meeting to meeting. The aim is to increase their vocabulary, use appropriate grammar and improve accents. They take turns, work in pairs or as a whole group to explore the topics, ask and answer questions and converse in a relaxed, friendly and supportive environment.
